This statement raises a critical question for skeptical clients: what exactly does the number represent? Is it a business registration number or a license number?
You should know that the local or national authorities issue a business or company registration number as evidence of a company’s legal existence. On the other hand, the industry regulator grants a business license number to authorize specific business activities, such as online trading.
The company’s failure to clarify the meaning of the number in question is a red flag. It leaves clients in the dark about its legitimacy.
A Deliberate Move
It’s not the first time I’ve seen this tactic. I’ve realized that it’s one of the deceptive strategies scammers use to build trust before defrauding their victims.
For example, the Xeodis Precision Trading (xeodis.com) scam broker makes vague claims about its regulatory status, just like Bullion Broker. For instance, it asserts that it operates under license “BFX2024026” without specifying the issuing authority. It’s basically the same thing we see with Bullion Broker, which mentions the “Company number 14476059” without explaining what it represents.

The deceit of bullionbroker.eu goes beyond listing bogus regulatory details. It employs various other tactics to trap more victims. Let me break these down for you, one after the other:
1. Bullionbroker.eu Lists a Questionable Telephone Number
Notably, on the contact page of bullionbroker.eu, the phone number listed for Bullion Broker is +447482863255, and the so-called broker’s address is Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, UK, WC2H 9JQ.
Here are two important things you need to understand before I continue:
The first is that all UK phone numbers begin with the prefix +44.
The second is that “20” is the area code for London.
Therefore, all London phone numbers start with the following four digits (the first two digits represent the UK country code, and the last two represent the London area code, respectively: +4420).
So, if Bullion Broker were indeed based in London, as the listed address details suggest, their phone number would start with the above four digits.
The number +447482863255 listed by Bullion Broker might be from the UK, but it is not from London. It could be from another region within the United Kingdom. If not, this number could be virtual, making it appear as though the broker is in the UK when they might be in Nigeria or elsewhere.
By the way, a broker that uses a virtual number is a huge red flag. These fake phone numbers allow them to conceal their actual physical locations. If you trace the location of the telephone number, the software might tell you that the owner is in Spain, while the scammer could actually be in South Africa or elsewhere.
2. Bullionbroker.eu Is None-FCA-Authorized: A Clear Sign of Untrustworthiness
The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulates all online trading platforms in the United Kingdom. If you want to know whether a broker claiming to be in the UK is legitimate, all you have to do is check if their name is listed in the FCA’s online register.
I searched the name “Bullion Broker” and the business number “14476059” in that register but did not get any positive results. Ittt indicates that Bullion Broker is neither recognized nor authorized by the FCA. You cannot consider such a broker credible or trustworthy.

There are specific broker review platforms that provide information to help you determine whether a broker is trustworthy or not.
